Beach
holidays in Croatia
Croatia:
the Mediterranean as it once was! ... this is the
motto of the Croatian tourist board, and they may be right
as upwards of 10 million tourists each year do visit Croatia’s
Dalmatian coast and Adriatic Sea islands, attracted to beach
holidays in Croatia as well as the country’s seven
world heritage sites and eight national parks. Croatia has
a typical Mediterranean climate with mild winters and warm,
sometimes very hot (40 C+) summers. Many cultural heritage
sites in Croatia; the old city of Dubrovnik, the Diocletian
Palace in Split, the ancient city of Trogir and St Jacob’s
Cathedral in Sibenik, to name a few, enjoy UNESCO protection.
Activity holidays in Croatia
Each passing
year sees an increase in activity holidays in Croatia. A
growing number of operators are offering yachting holidays/sailing
holidays and luxury cruises on Croatia’s
Adriatic Sea. Likewise adventure, biking, kayaking, and
windsurfing holiday operators are on the increase. Croatia’s
islands, the most famous being Brac, Hvar, Vis, Losinj
and Mljet offer idyllic locations for sailing, sea kayaking,
wind surfing, hiking/trekking holidays, or, for the more
chilled out Croatia holiday experience, spa and wellness
holidays staying at one of a good choice of 4**** hotels.
Croatia Tennis
Two popular
locations for Croatia tennis are Brac Island, off the coast
from Split, or at Umag located on the coast in the very north
of the country. Both of these tennis holiday locations
offer extensive facilities in terms of choice of hotels and
tennis packages. Tennis coaching courses/training for family,
children, teen, all the way through to individual lessons
and training for the professional tennis player are offered.
At Umag, the Stella Maris tennis settlement is located next
to a beautiful blue flag awarded beach, and the ITC tennis
centre, where recreational and professional tennis tournaments
also regularly take place, has 16 tennis courts, some of
which with lighting for playing tennis at night. On Brac
Island, the PCT tennis complex is located near Bol, and the
famous Zlanti Rat beach. There are 26 tennis courts and a
professional tennis school offering a wide range of tennis
courses. |
